Call for Abstracts


The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for presentation at the MEACO 2016 congress to be held in Bahrain from 4-8 May 2016.


  • Notification of Acceptance: 10 April 2016
  • Early Bird Registration Deadline: 29 February 2016
Accepted authors will be eligible for the early bird rates


Abstracts will be classified under specific categories for review and program purposes. Presenters are requested to select the topic under which their abstracts belong:

All abstracts must be submitted in English using the online submission form on the MEACO 2016 abstract submission portal. NOTE: Abstracts submitted by email, fax or post will NOT be accepted. The congress organizers will not accept responsibility for any abstracts that have not been properly submitted according to the instructions.

Corresponding authors must provide the organizers with their full mailing address, office hours phone number, fax number and email address.

Author and co-author information must be provided including the first and last names of all authors, their department, institution / hospital, city, state if applicable and country.

Abstracts must contain original scientific data collected by the author(s). All abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to determine whether a submission is accepted as an oral presentation, poster presentation, free paper or video presentation and its decision is final. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to edit abstracts for grammar and clarity.

The abstract may be scheduled for presentation on any day from 4 – 8 May 2016.


  • The title must be brief, concise, and in CAPITAL LETTERS.
  • Abstract title limit: 200 characters
  • Authors: Please enter your name and your colleagues’ names as you wish them to appear in the final program
  • The abstract text should have a minimum of 1,000 characters and maximum of 2,500 characters only
  • The Scientific Committee reserves the rights to redact any submission
  • You are permitted a maximum of 5 keywords per abstract. If more than 5 words are entered, only the first 5 will be recognized
  • Tables and figures should not be included in the abstract
  • Do not include references or keywords in the abstract body character count as you will be provided separate fields for the references and keywords
  • Abbreviations should be spelled out, in parenthesis, in its first use in the abstract

A presenting Author whose abstract has been accepted is required to register and pay the congress registration fees (latest 2 weeks after receiving their notification of acceptance), attend the congress, and deliver the presentation of the abstract.

Electronic screens for poster presentations will be provided on-site. Poster presentations will be displayed on the screens in PDF format.

Please prepare your poster in a PORTRAIT layout as a PDF document. You are required to develop, and send the PDF poster to the Congress Secretariat ( latest by March 4, 2016.

For legibility, a minimum font size of 28 points and a maximum of 600 words on each poster are recommended.
